A new coffee import right from the zona cafetera in the heart of Colombia. Following a business trip to the “coffee triangle” in North West Colombia, David agreed to become a part of the team marketing the brand in the UK and Europe.
The Taste of Colombia
The name, the brand and the visual identity were all developed exclusively by David Pugh, and more designs are currently being developed for large Polish and French supermarket chains.
Packaging Designs
This is the initial design for the branding developed for a UK/USA market place, unashamedly Colombian the identity is big, bold, dominating and stands out in any display. I realised that the main asset of the brand is its identity of location. Colombian coffee is going through a real renaissance and a single blend, organic coffee from the heart of the coffee triangle in Colombia should be something to shout about. The Coffee Trip, February 2014
This year David went out with a team of photographers, writers and principal importers to the heart of the coffee growing region in Salento, Colombia, below are some of the images from the trip.
(Above) David holds a number of beans from the hills of Colombia, the beans are at various stages of ripening, from unripe on the left through to picking on the right.
(Above) A coffee bean shed of its skin, this is at the farm how all beans end up before being sent to the roasting house. These are also referred to as the ‘green beans’.
